Job Summary:
The Head of Operations oversees the company’s operational departments, ensuring the efficient and accurate execution of daily processes and procedures. The goal of the Head of Operations is to strengthen and optimize operational performance to support sustainable, mission-aligned growth. This role is responsible for improving operating efficiency, increasing order accuracy, maintaining strong cost controls, and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
The Head of Operations oversees warehouse, logistics, fulfillment, and inventory management functions and works closely with procurement, sales, and finance to ensure operational feasibility and financial discipline across the business. This role focuses on execution, systems, accountability, and continuous improvement rather than setting overall corporate strategy.
Duties/Responsibilities:

Acts as a senior operational leader and partner to the CEO, ensuring operational execution aligns with company objectives.

Ensures warehouse, logistics, fulfillment, and inventory functions deliver against key operational and financial metrics.

Establishes and monitors KPIs including order accuracy, on-time delivery, inventory variance, labor productivity, and cost control.

Designs, implements, and continuously improves operational systems, processes, controls, and procedures.

Works collaboratively with procurement, sales, and finance to align demand planning, purchasing, and delivery capabilities.

Identifies opportunities to improve quality, efficiency, productivity, and margin while reducing operational risk.

Leads and develops warehouse and operations team members across functions.

Clarifies team roles and responsibilities and fosters accountability throughout the operations function.

Collaborates with leadership to ensure operational infrastructure (systems, processes, staffing) supports growth objectives.

Demonstrates a hands-on leadership approach with a mindset that no task is too small and all systems can be improved.

Works autonomously while ensuring CEO expectations are consistently met or exceeded.

Fosters a success-oriented, accountable, and safety-focused environment within the operations team.

Manages team who ensure compliance with food safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies.

Represents the operations function in leadership meetings and cross-functional initiatives.
Required Skills/Qualifications:

Demonstrated experience in operational management, warehouse operations, or logistics.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Ability to analyze operational data and drive data-informed decision-making.

Promotion of process improvement and operational excellence.
Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, operations management, or related field preferred.

Minimum of 5–10 years of management experience in operations, logistics, food distribution, or related industry preferred.

Experience managing warehouse or fulfillment teams required.

Understanding of inventory management, compliance, and regulatory requirements in food or perishable goods preferred.

Demonstrated leadership ability with experience building and developing teams.
Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Must be able to stand for extended periods in a warehouse environment as needed.
