Cattle Run Farm is a family operated farm with the purpose to provide fresh and local foods to families and communities. They strive to strengthen the connection between consumer and producer. Cattle Run Farm produces beef, pork, chicken, some vegetables, berries, and local honey in Ruckersville, Va.
After retiring from the military, Ralph T. Morton returned to the family farm to bring food to the community. Ralph and his family are active in 4H and are passionate about educating the next generation of farmers. Ralph himself is a third-generation farmer. Cattle Run Farm takes pride in delivering good customer service and product satisfaction.
They produce high quality natural beef with no growth implants and no artificial hormones. Their beef is USDA and VDACS (Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services) inspected. Cattle Run Farm cattle are raised on pasture and eat grass their whole lives. They are rotated to fresh pastures regularly to help fertilize the land and keep the cattle’s diet of native grasses diverse.
Cattle Run Farm’s herd of hogs is a mix of heritage breeds that are best adapted to their land to produce the most flavorful meat. They are raised unconfined, with plenty of room to roam, and access to sun and fresh air. Cattle Run Farm’s pigs are able to forage on fresh pastures and are fed a diverse diet.
