Matriark Foods
New York, NY
Working directly with small and mid-sized farms, produce aggregators, and fresh-cut facilities, Matriark captures vegetables that might otherwise go unused—from imperfect harvests to nutritious peels, stems, and ends—and upcycles them into clean-label broths, sauces, and ready-to-eat meals. Every product helps keep valuable food, water, land, labor, and other natural resources in circulation while creating new revenue opportunities for farmers.
Since 2019, Matriark has diverted more than 1.5 million pounds of vegetables from landfills, reduced more than 7.7 million pounds of greenhouse gas emissions, and saved over 361 million gallons of water through its upcycled supply chain. These impacts are measured through life cycle assessments and verified methodologies, demonstrating how everyday food choices can contribute to meaningful environmental change.
Sustainability extends beyond the ingredients themselves. Matriark is a certified Women-Owned Business, an Upcycled Certified® producer, and a member of 1% for the Planet. The company also uses FSC-certified packaging and partners with organizations such as the Glynwood Center for Regional Food and Farming to support education, regional agriculture, and more resilient food systems.
4P Foods is proud to partner with Matriark Foods to offer innovative products that reduce food waste while supporting farmers and expanding access to nutritious, shelf-stable foods. Together, we're helping create a food system where every harvest has value and every meal makes a positive impact.
