A red, white, and barbeque recipe perfect for summertime and grilling season. Dress up grilled hotdogs with delicious chili and shredded cheddar cheese. These chili cheese dogs make for a filling lunch or tasty dinner. The measurements below will serve 8 people.

Here is how to make this recipe with purpose-fueled food that’s better for the prosperity of our planet and people.

  • 8 locally baked hotdog buns

  • 8 hotdogs

  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded

  • 1/2 tbsp butter

  • 1 white onion diced

  • 4 cloves garlic minced

  • 1 lbs pasture-raised ground beef

  • 2 large tomatoes, diced

  • 1 tbsp chili powder

  • 2 tsp smoked paprika

  • 1 tsp ground cumin

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

Set your grill to medium heat.

Place a large pot on the grill and melt ½ tablespoon of butter in the pot. Add the diced onion to the pot and cook until translucent. Add the ground beef to the pot, break into smaller pieces and cook until browned. Add in the diced tomatoes, chili powder, smoked paprika and ground cumin, and garlic. Stir to combine and cook for 5 minutes. Season with salt and pepper and cook for another 3 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.

Grill your hotdogs to desired doneness.

Place cooked hotdogs on buns. Top each hotdog with chili and shredded cheese, and then, wrap each chili cheese dog in tin foil.

Reduce the heat of the grill to low and place the wrapped chili cheese dogs back on the grill for 5 minutes or until the cheese is melted.
