Lettuce tell you about a sandwich called a BLT. Okay, you’ve probably heard of it, but we recommend using pasture-raised bacon and in season tomatoes (if it is summer and they’re available). This recipe makes one sandwich with locally baked sourdough, but feel free to repeat the steps and make sandwiches for your friends! A BLT makes for a great lunch and addition to a picnic.
Here is how to make this recipe with purpose-fueled food that’s better for the prosperity of our planet and people.
Ingredients
- 2 slices sourdough bread
- 2 slices of tomato
- 2 leaves of bibb lettuce
- 3 slices of bacon, cooked
- 1 tbsp. mayonnaise
- Pepper to taste
Directions
Place your bacon in a skillet over low to medium heat. Season with pepper to your taste. Cook the bacon to desired crispiness.
On one slice of sourdough, spread your mayonnaise and layer on your cooked bacon. Cut the bacon to fit the size of the bread.
On top of the bacon, place your tomatoes. Then, add the lettuce and the last slice of sourdough bread. Cut in half to make it easier to eat. Enjoy!
