We’re talking turkey…sandwiches with fair trade avocados. This sandwich recipe makes for a great lunch year round. Garrett Valley Farm pasture-raised turkey on The Homestead Oven sourdough bread with creamy avocado, crisp lettuce and flavorful tomatoes is the perfect addition to your lunchbox. This recipe makes one sandwich, but you can easily repeat the steps to create a sandwich for a friend or just a second helping for yourself.
Here is how to make this recipe with purpose-fueled food that’s better for the prosperity of our planet and people.
- 2 slices sourdough bread
- 2 slices roasted turkey
- ¼ ripe avocado
- 3 leaves of bibb lettuce
- 2 slices a tomato
- Salt and pepper to taste
Cut your avocado in half lengthwise and remove the pit. Then, cut the avocado in half again.
Start assembling your sandwich by spreading the avocado on the bottom slice of bread. Season with salt and pepper. Layer on tomato slices, lettuce, and roast turkey slices. Add cheese and bacon if you wish.
Cut in half and enjoy!
